Kid program 2009 |
Starting in 2009, we will be donating a doeling and/ or buckling (herd sire) to a deserving youth. Any youth, age 8-18, is eligible, priority may be given to a youth in 4-H Club, FFA, Show herds or youth enrolled in other animal organizations. We will be selecting a winner of a registered, show quality Nubian, Alpine or LaMancha doeling and/or herd-sire quality buckling (we are hoping to give one doe to one youth and one buckling to another youth, but you never know what we will have until the goats kid). |
If you are a youth and you would like to apply for our "Kid program", please answer the following questions the best you can and mail your answers to us. Please email us to obtain our home address if you would like to send us an application for a kid. Minors must have your parent's consent before answering questions or applying. 1) What breed and sex of goat would you like? 2)Will your new goat be kept with any other animals. If so, with what type of animals? 3) Tell us what your plans will be for your new goat if you win? Ex.- Breeding, showing, for milk, a pet, to eat brush, for meat......? 4)How many goats are currently in your herd and what breeds are they? 5) Describe where your goat will live during the day as well as at night. 6) What will you feed your goat? 7) Who will buy the feed for your goat? 8)What are your goals for your goat if you win? What would you like to improve in your herd? 9) Are in currently an active member of 4-H, FFA or other animal club? If so, please give name of club, leader's name and telephone number of the leader. 10) Include your name, age, email address or home address and telephone number. Make sure you have an adults permission before applying. 11) Please also list two refrences of people that know you and any pets you already have. |
Winners will be announced before June 15th, 2009. Winners must arrange to take possesion of their kids by July 15th. Transportation of goat is the responsibility of the winners. |
